Lift Every Voice Project
Celebrating the Women of Color who Inspire & Shape our Community
The theme ‘Lift Every Voice’ is inspired by the 1900’s African American anthem “Lift Every Voice and Sing”, an affirmation of the long-fought hardships and injustices endured by African American people. This project seeks to showcase the experiences and achievements of local Black, Latina, Asian, and Indigenous women as trailblazers and cornerstones of our local communities. Whether she is a well-known community leader or a neighbor that quietly plays a vital role in helping those around her, we strive to create space that acknowledges and appreciates the valuable role each of these women plays in our community and the Orange County/Hudson Valley Region.
If you know someone who you’d like to nominate to be part of the Lift Every Voice Project Story Collection, please let us know here.
