Adhara Jimenez-Banse is a beloved mother and social justice advocate working to build equitable communities and improve the lives of families in Orange county and beyond. Originally from Brooklyn NY, Addy has strong ties to her Dominican and Afro Latinx roots. Her close relationship with her mother and grandmother taught her the value of family and helping others which inspired her to stand up and speak for vulnerable people.

After earning a degree in Human Services, Addy pursued a career as an ESL teacher and case manager. She is currently completing a Master’s of Social Work at Adelphi University. Her work experience has complimented her deeply held interests in human rights, women’s issues, LGTBQ rights, and supporting marginalized and oppressed people everywhere. Addy is an active Board member of the Family & Consumer Sciences through Cornell Cooperative Extension. She is also a teacher advocate and building representative for Orange-Ulster BOCES.

For the last 16 years she has made her home with her husband and 2 wonderful children in Sparrowbush, NY. Addy has played an important role in participating and planning Port Jervis Women’s March events. She was also a member of the Town of Deerpark EO203 Committee on Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative Plan.
