Aria Valdez is a fearless community organizer, activist, artist, and leader from the City of Newburgh fighting for racial and gender equality. She was inspired at a young age by personal aspirations for gender equality, lived experiences, and history of black led civil rights leadership. Aria is dedicated to leading the promotion of systemic equality through dismantling inequities that target marginalized communities. As a passionate advocate for Women’s & LGBTQ Rights, Healthcare & Reproductive Justice, Environmental Justice, Aria has been instrumental in organizing local marches and vigils such as (The two Hudson Valley Women’s Marches for Reproductive Justice, Immigrants Rights March, We the People March, Free Palestine Marches, Justice for Vanessa Guillen Vigil, George Floyd Vigil, Yadhira Martinez Vigil.

She was a Women’s Advocate speaker at the Women’s March NYC 2020 and a Reproductive Healthcare Speaker at the We the People March 2019. She’s a devoted Speech Writer & Speaker for Planned Parenthood of Greater NY. Aria is a steadfast proponent of voting access and works hard to increase voting participation and other forms of civic engagement. She is an active member and former Secretary to the City of Newburgh Democratic Committee, Member to the Orange County Democrats & Young Democrats, the Stop Danskammer Coalition, and member of a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee for affordable housing. Aria is the founder of local activist coalition Vote for Justice and Hudson Valley Women & Allies (known now as Hudson Valley Women’s March.) Aria has committed 14 years to serving copious political campaigns, led & lobbied for progressive policies for local and federal government. She is a Marketing Coordinator for affordable housing.
