The "Lift Every Voice Project” is organized by members of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, OC Progress, and Port Jervis Community Action to commemorate what would be the 5th annual Port Jervis Women's March. The project showcases the experiences and achievements of local Black, Latina, Asian, and Indigenous women as trailblazers and cornerstones of our local communities.

“Instead of a traditional march with speakers, we are asking people to nominate friends, family members, colleagues, community leaders, and other Women of Color in Orange County who have inspired them,” explains Addy Jimenez of Deerpark.

Using the StoryCorps model, "to preserve and share humanity's stories to build connections and create a more just and compassionate world," the organizers seek to spotlight women making an impact in their communities.

“We want to create an archive of conversations about aspirations, experiences, and influences that energize and shape our society,” explains Margaret Spring of Deerpark. Community members are asked to capture a conversation with someone sharing what motivates them and what has supported their success.
