Free Brake Repair Clinics

Broken brake lights are among the most common reasons for police stops. Any police stop can result in expensive fines, harassment or arrest. For black and brown people and those without papers, a police stop poses a distinct threat. By fixing brake lights for free, we aim to take a small but significant action to protect one another from harassment, deportation or violence at the hands of the police.

OC Progress is partnering with Mid-Hudson Valley DSA to bring the Free Brake Light Repair Clinics they’ve run in Poughkeepsie, Kingston, and Newburgh into more areas of Orange County.
